Vision for
Ōwairaka

The work happening in Ōwairaka is part of the wider Roskill Development being managed by Kāinga Ora. The vision for Ōwairaka is to increase the number of high-quality homes available to buy or rent, including state homes for Aucklanders who need housing assistance. The development in Ōwairaka will replace approximately 200 old state homes with 1,000 + brand new, architecturally designed homes designed for the way we live now.

At the same time, key neighbourhood infrastructure and amenities will be upgraded so that community spaces and essential services are future proofed for generations to come. Renovating the neighbourhood will make Ōwairaka an even better place to live.

The new homes in Ōwairaka are well designed and built to modern standards. Double glazed windows, cosy insulation and light, bright spaces are just the beginning. The homes have a 6 Homestar rating and each one has been through a thorough design review process to ensure it meets a high design standard. There is a mixture of standalone homes, terraces and apartments coming to the neighbourhood.
